Prototype Development Quotation
Management planning estimate for engineering scope, work packages, schedule, cost range, assumptions, and exclusions — prepared for investor planning and engineering-firm discussions.
Target engineering + prototype budget
Planning range $4.0M–$6.4M · estimated duration 24–30 months. Final price, schedule, and deliverables require a signed proposal from a qualified contractor after technical diligence.
Project objective
Convert the concept into a documented, measurable, serviceable alpha prototype, followed by beta units suitable for formal verification, human-factors evaluation, and limited pilot workflow testing.
Commercial objective
Produce the technical evidence, drawings, software description, bill of materials, supplier assumptions, calibration method, and cost model needed for an informed pilot-production decision.
Quotation basis
Pricing assumes a multidisciplinary U.S. engineering team covering electromagnetics, electrical, mechanical, embedded software, industrial design, safety, project management, prototype fabrication, and documentation.
Not included
Clinical trials, production tooling, mass-manufacturing inventory, marketing, sales, franchise rollout, reimbursement work, patent prosecution, and final regulatory submissions are excluded unless separately contracted.

Commercial terms & quote requirements
Payment structure
10% at execution; 15% after requirements approval; 20% after architecture review; 20% after alpha acceptance; 20% after beta acceptance; 10% after verification package; 5% at final transfer. Terms subject to negotiation and milestone definitions.
Ownership & confidentiality
Project Resonance retains ownership of paid-for drawings, source code, test data, custom tooling, prototypes, and project-specific IP. Contractor background IP must be identified. Mutual confidentiality and controlled disclosure required.
Change control
Any change affecting price, schedule, performance, or risk must be documented with technical justification, cost, schedule impact, and approval authority. Unused contingency remains with Project Resonance.
Acceptance criteria
Each milestone requires identified deliverables, configuration control, test evidence, open-risk reporting, and written acceptance. Prototype appearance alone is not acceptance — measurable output, repeatability, safety behavior, and documentation are required.
Engineering-firm quotation responses must include
- Firm qualifications, named technical leads, and relevant electromechanical or medical-product experience
- Work breakdown, milestone schedule, labor assumptions, subcontractors, and prototype quantities
- Fixed fees, time-and-material rates, pass-through costs, travel, freight, taxes, and contingency treatment
- Deliverables, acceptance criteria, exclusions, client responsibilities, and proposed change-order process
- IP ownership, background-IP schedule, source-file transfer, data rights, warranty, and service terms
- Top technical risks, required feasibility tests, and recommendations that could materially change scope
Recommended commercial structure
Milestone-based, not-to-exceed contract with board approval at each gate; monthly cost reporting; written change orders; defined ownership of project IP, source files, test data, and prototype hardware. Next step: send the specification and concept package to 3–5 qualified firms for comparable quotations.
